Nourish Organics is yet another brand that creates eco-friendly and USDA-certified skincare products, using some of the most trending ingredients in the industry.
Through their pledge of purity, they avoid the use of certain toxic components such as parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, artificial fragrances, silicones, propylene glycol, mineral oils, sulfates, synthetic dyes, triclosan, EDTA, or aluminum.
More importantly, they are also certified by the Leaping Bunny, which means they cannot test finished products on animals or ingredients, and neither do the third-party members they’re affiliated with. Having the Leaping Bunny certificate also means you cannot sell products in countries where animal testing is required by law (i.e: Mainland China).
Nourish Organics also has different pledges which include donating 1% of their annual sales to sustainable causes, and a recycling pledge where they must recycle all of their cardboard, and also reuse and repurposes materials when necessary.
All that being said, there’s a caveat, not every product sold by Nourish Organics is vegan.
Nourish Organics Is Not A Vegan Brand
Yes, while we have to appreciate the fact they’re certified by the Leaping Bunny, and do not conduct ANY animal testing, we still have to take notice of some of the ingredients they use that aren’t animal-friendly.
Here’s what they have to say on their FAQ page:
As you can see, Nourish Organics ingredients such as beeswax and yogurt extract.
Beeswax is a wax created by worker bees to store the honey produced in the colony. Companies consider it to be an ideal ingredient to moisturize sensitive skin and general hydration, as well as soothe certain skin conditions, which is why it’s often used in lip balms for chapped lips.
Yogurt Extract is also seen as repairing, nourishing, moisturizing, and protective agent with revitalizing properties that beautify the skin. Unfortunately, it’s derived from milk.
Here’s a list of products from Nourish Organics that contain animal ingredients:
- Nourishing Skin Salve
- Replenishing Beauty Balm
- Age Defense Face Cream
- Age Defense Face Cleanser
- Age Defense Eye Treatment
- Age Defense Face Serum
Aside from the 6 products, the remaining should be vegan-friendly. In any case, feel free to check each label as profusely as you can.
