Is Juice Beauty Vegan And Cruelty-Free?

Juice Beauty is a skincare and makeup company with award-winning products that, according to their website, meet rigorous USA organic regulations supported by solid eco-values.

These values include sourcing or purchasing ingredients from West Coast certified organic farmers, supporting production within the United States through wind and solar power, and using sustainable product containers, as well as soy-based inks.

If you love sustainable brands, there’s no denying that Juice Beauty is making a tremendous effort in minimizing the impact their products have on the planet.

But is Juice Beauty vegan and cruelty-free? Let’s quickly find out!

Is Juice Beauty Vegan & Cruelty-Free?

According to one of the company’s pages — the brand should be vegan.

In fact, here’s a quick screenshot showing you Juice Beauty’s five eco-values:

One of their values is “Vegan and No Animal Testing”. That can be even more solidified by visiting one of their pages that expresses the following message:

“Protecting animals is important to us. At Juice Beauty, we believe in the ethical treatment of animals as harming animals is cruel but it also harms the planet and humans as our ecosystem is inextricably intertwined. To harm one, it harms all. Therefore, Juice Beauty has never conducted animal testing—ever!

PETA awarded Juice Beauty their Courage in Commerce award for staying out of China brick and mortar stores where the government routinely pulls product to test on animals.

To receive Leaping Bunny certification, Juice Beauty has legally agreed to not conduct or be party to any animal testing of our products or any or our ingredients. Additionally, we have a supply chain monitoring system to assure that no animal testing takes place with any of our ingredient suppliers.”

Plus, if you visit their ingredients page you can find a vast list of organic plant-based ingredients and no mention of animal ingredients.

Some of the ingredients include shea butter, jojoba oil, aloe leaf juice, lemon, apple juice, grape juice, which are also ingredients commonly found in other organic skincare brands.

That being said, Juice Beauty is NOT 100% vegan.

In fact, if you check their USDA Organic Lip Moisturizer, you can see that it contains “cera alba”, which is essentially beeswax, an animal-based ingredient.

And in their FAQ page, they also mention sourcing honey:

“…We source all of our organic ingredients, including our juices, aloe vera, honey, botanicals, plant oils, sugar, and essential fatty acids, directly from USDA approved certified organic farms…”

Therefore, If you’re planning to purchase their products, you have to first verify the list of ingredients to make sure they’re 100% vegan.

Juice Beauty is Cruelty-Free!

Juice Beauty is certified by the leaping bunny. They don’t test finished products or ingredients on animals, nor do they ask third-party companies to conduct testing.

In addition, they have a supply chain monitoring system that ensures no animal testing takes place with any of their suppliers.

Furthermore, they also don’t sell products in China or in any other countries where animal testing is required by law.

This resulted in PETA awarding Juice Beauty with the Courage in Commerce Award.

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free Alternatives To Juice Beauty

Before we put an end to this blog post, I’d love to share with you some vegan and cruelty-free brands which my wife believes are worthy of your attention.

Here are some of the brands she likes:

These brands are 100% vegan and cruelty-free, and you can either purchase their products through their website or retailers like Ulta and Dermstore.

Bottom Line

The overwhelming majority of Juice Beauty’s products are vegan-friendly but you might run into a few exceptions, as some of their products may contain beeswax and honey.

In addition, they’re leaping bunny certified, which means they’re not allowed to conduct animal testing, nor can third parties or suppliers test products or ingredients.

Lastly, they also don’t sell products in China, which means none of their products will be forced to undergo animal testing at any point in time.

If you’re interested in purchasing at Juice Beauty, feel free to do so through their website.
