Is Pacifica Vegan and Cruelty-Free?

is pacifica beauty vegan

Pacifica Beauty is a brand known for its natural makeup, skincare products, and perfumes.

While it originally sold eco-friendly candles and home fragrance, the brand expanded to the beauty industry and today it has products in multiple categories, including hair care.

Pacifica’s goals have slightly shifted overtime to provide us with sustainable and natural beauty products that can perform just as well as chemically-enhanced products. Instead of relying on harsh chemicals, they use ingredients like coconut water, rose water, kale, kombucha, sweet almond oil, and even trendy ingredients like crystals.

Needless to say, not one of these ingredients is derived from animals.

Yes, Pacifica Beauty Is Vegan!

Pacifica Beauty is a 100% vegan brand, which means they don’t have a single product that contains animal-based ingredients.

In fact, Pacifica is often mentioned in highly-popular websites like the Cosmopolitan, and it’s also on the list of PETA’s vegan beauty brands everyone should support.

Some of their most popular products include:

  • Sea Foam Complete Face Wash
  • Kale Charcoal Ultimate Face Mask
  • Coconut Probiotic Water Rehab Cream
  • Crystal Powder Hydro Mist
  • Beauty Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream

And the list just keeps on growing because Pacifica is always expanding their product line.

Cruelty-Free & PETA-approved

Pacifica is (obviously) also a cruelty-free brand.

Meaning, they don’t conduct animal tests on animals, and neither do their suppliers. They also don’t commission third-parties to conduct animal testing for them. In addition, their products are also not sold in countries where animal testing is required by law.

Pacifica is a PETA-approved brand, however, we do prefer when companies are certified cruelty-free by organizations such as the Leaping Bunny and Cruelty-Free International.

When certified by these organizations, companies/brands must abide by certain criteria that typically involve setting up a supplier monitoring system down to the manufacturer level, as well as the approval for randomly-timed audits.

Recycling Program

There is also an environmental component in Pacifica’s strategy to appeal towards their audience, which is present in their Recycling Program.

Put simply, they send you a pre-paid shipping label where you can add up to eight products that will be upcycled and converted into razors and toothbrushes. In exchange, you receive 100 loyalty points which you can then redeem to purchase products for free.

However, keep in mind that there are some restrictions:

  • There is a limit of 100 loyalty points per month;
  • And free shipping is only available for those living in the US.

This being said, it’s still a nice initiative for anyone willing to keep plastic out of the landfill.

They don’t use any animal ingredients or derivatives, and they’re also cruelty-free, which means their products and ingredients are not tested on animals.

Pacifica Beauty also doesn’t sell products in countries (such as China) where animal testing is required by law, in which companies are the ones typically providing the funds.
