Caffè Nero is an Italian-styled coffee house with more than 1000 coffee houses spread across the entire world. When I was living in the United Kingdom, Caffè Nero was never my go-to coffee shop as it was either Costa or Starbucks, but that was just me missing out on some awesomeness.
From what I’ve perceived, Caffè Nero has close to 30 vegan food options, which is very enticing for vegans going in for a soy latte and a quick snack.
In fact, looking at the range of choices, Caffè Nero may have more options than Greggs, a food-chain that has become widely popular among vegans for launching a vegan sausage roll.
If you want to learn what vegan options are available at Caffè Nero, feel free to continue reading.
Vegan Food Options At Caffè Nero
Below, I’m going to highlight some vegan products I believe you should definitely try out, and I’m also going to list, in addition, the remaining vegan options in a prompt fashion.
Vegan Vegetable Sausage Roll
This Vegan Vegetable “Sausage” Roll is actually a combination of roasted butternut squash, courgette and sweet potato stuffed in a vegan-friendly pastry. Unlike the popular vegan sausage roll by Greggs, this one doesn’t contain the meat-alternative provided by Quorn. Instead, you have ingredients taken out of the earth for a healthier and super satisfying vegan “sausage” roll.
This is a must-try if you ever decide to visit Caffè Nero.
Vegan Meatball Panini
If you’re missing a combination of meat and cheese in a stonebaked sourdough panini, the Vegan Meatball Panini is stuffed with meatballs made with mushrooms and Borlotti beans that are neatly placed on top of a rich tomato ragu. In addition, you have vegan cheese on top of the tomato ragu, as well as mayo and spinach on top of the meatballs.
If you haven’t tried this one yet, please do.
Mushroom, Tomato & Potato Ciabatta
This is essentially a rustic ciabatta roll filled with portobello and chestnut mushrooms, potato rosti, and tomato and spinach carefully placed on top.
Sweetcorn Fritter With Chutney & Coleslaw Flatbread
Caffè Nero also sells sweetcorn fritters with coleslaw, as well as tomato chutney and rocket in a flatbread. Again, another wonderful option for a quick snack.
If you want to keep it super healthy and nutritious, feel free to ask for the Supergreen Soup. It is a soup with a vibrant green colour made with peas, courgette, spinach and kale with Borlotti beans.
Besides having a decent amount of dietary fibre, it’s also packed with micronutrients like calcium and iron derived from ingredients like kale and beans.
Tomato & Basil Soup
Although more incomplete nutrient-wise, the Tomato & Basil is super delicious, especially if you’re enamoured with the citric flavour of tomatoes. From a health standpoint, this soup is lacking, but it’s still a far healthier choice than going for fast-food alternatives.
Ginger Spiced Vegan Loaf Cake
If you still have space in your belly for an awesome dessert, Caffè Nero has some delicious cakes such as the Ginger Spiced Vegan Loaf Cake. A ginger-spiced vegan loaf caked with a white fondant icing and golden ginger pieces.
Here’s an awesome homemade recipe of the Vegan Gingerbread Cake which is very similar to the one sold at Caffè Nero.
Salted Caramel And Chocolate Vegan Cheesecake
If you prefer a creamier option, the Salted Caramel & Chocolate Vegan Cheesecake is also available. This one is a blend of dairy-free soft cheese and coconut milk, flavoured with salted caramel and dark chocolate.
Here’s another homemade recipe, this time of a Vegan Salted Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake, which looks as delicious as the one sold by Caffè Nero.
Additional Vegan Food Options
Fortunately, there are WAY MORE vegan options than the ones I’ve mentioned, but keep in mind that not all of them may be available at all times, or in all locations.
Here’s a list of DELICIOUS additional food options:

Vegan Drink Options At Caffè Nero
Caffè Nero’s has a panoply of hot and cold drinks available, but you have to ask for the replacement of dairy milk as you place your order.
Here’s a list of vegan hot drinks available at Nero’s:
- Flat White
- Chai Latte
- Hot Chocolate (advise against whipped cream)
These are generally the hot drinks which you can simply replace the milk. However, other drinks like the Caramellate, White Chocolate Mocha, and Espresso Con Panna come with Whipped Cream, which is typically not vegan.
Then we also have the vegan cold coffee variations:
- Iced Latte
- Iced Coconut Latte
- Iced Cappucino
- Frappe Latte
- Iced Americano
- Ultimate Espresso Tonic
- Original Espresso and Tonic
Other cold drinks (that do not contain coffee) are:
- Black Tea and Peach
- Garden Mint Lemonade
- Green Tea and Mango
- Alphonso Mango & Passionfruit Booster
- Raspberry & Italian Peach Booster
- Strawberry Frappe Milkshake
- Vanilla Frappe Milkshake
Other cold drinks such as Frappe Crème variations, although the milk can be replaced, they are generally topped with whipped cream. In any case, feel free to ask one of the workers if you want those variations without the whipped cream.
I was positively surprised to find out that Caffè Nero contains tons of vegan options.
In fact, you’re better of visiting a coffee house like Caffè Nero to have a full-on vegan meal than an actual restaurant with vegan options (in most cases).
Also, keep in mind that not all of the options may be available given that some products may be seasonal or not available at certain locations. In addition, make sure you pay attention to their Facebook or Instagram page, where you catch the release of new vegan products!
Because Caffè Nero seems to be trending in that direction, show them your support if you can, as it will provide them with the resources and motivation to create new vegan delicacies!
