Jacked Factory NO XT Review — Does It Really Work? (2022 Update)

Nitric Oxide boosters are dietary supplements containing different ingredients that theoretically boost the body’s nitric oxide production. 

This is particularly interesting for gym-goers, as companies claim that increasing nitric oxide production can enhance athletic performance and reduce soreness. 

Jacked Factory is one of those companies, and they promote N.O. XT, which is an extremely popular nitric oxide supplement. 

In this article, we’ll cover N.O. XT and determine whether it’s worth your investment.

What is Nitric Oxide?

Nitric oxide is a molecule comprised of nitrogen (N) and oxygen (O), and it does so by using dietary arginine and nitrate as precursors. 

Companies that sell nitric oxide supplements claim that by enhancing nitric oxide production, you’re able to experience an improvement in blood flow, endurance, vascularity, and strength. 

These claims arise from the fact nitric oxide is a signaling molecule in various bodily functions, including blood pressure regulation, cardiovascular health, mitochondria production, calcium transport, oxidative stress, and muscle repair.

Nitric oxide also plays a role as a vasodilator, which means it relaxes blood vessels, improving blood flow, albeit what many bodybuilders want to have is veiny arms. 

Its effects on improved exercise and muscular performance require more research, but it does seem that supplementing nitrate (a nitric oxide precursor) may temporarily reduce the body’s oxygen demand during exercise, which means it could in turn improve exercise and muscular performance. 2, 3

However, most supplements that claim to increase nitric oxide production contain L-arginine and L-citrulline, not nitrate, and the same goes for N.O. XT supplement. 

What’s In N.O. XT Supplement?

Jacked Factory’s N.O. XT contains the following ingredients:

  • L-Citrulline (1.5 grams)
  • Inositol-Stabilized Arginine Silicate (500 milligrams)
  • L-Glutathione (200 milligrams)
  • BioPerine or Back Pepper Fruit Extract (5 milligrams)

Ingredients like L-Citrulline and Arginine are known as nitric oxide boosters but what role do the other ingredients play in this supplement?

Well, for those unfamiliar with L-Gluthanione, it is an antioxidant that is comprised of three amino acids, namely glutamine, glycine, and cysteine. 

According to Jacked Factory, L-Gluthanione can work synergistically with L-Citrulline to increase nitric oxide production, something that has been found in a study by Baylor University. 4 Therefore, one can say that L-Gluthanione enhances nitric oxide production, and thus potentiates its effects. 

BioPerine or black pepper fruit extract is essentially a nutrient enhancer, and according to the manufacturers, it increases the efficacy and absorption of other ingredients. 

However, this effect may not extend past certain compounds, for instance, I’ve only found studies showing this effect for plant-based compounds such as turmeric, beta-carotene, and selenium. 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

Whether or not it exerts the same effect on L-Citrulline and Arginine I do not know, but it doesn’t seem to work equally for every ingredient. 

Does Jacked Factory’s NO XT Really Work? 

According to Jacked Factory, their supplement is able to build up nitric oxide in the body and as it turns out the consumption of L-Citrulline and/or Argine compels the body to convert them into nitric oxide. 10

Many people think that increasing nitric oxide levels in the body can lead to many potential benefits, such as improved blood flow and enhanced performance in sports. 

Researchers think that taking nitric oxide supplements can enhance the delivery of oxygen to the muscles, which could lead to an improvement in performance and also reduce soreness after a workout. 

An article in the journal “Sports Medicine” suggests that studies show that taking nitric oxide supplements may enhance tolerance to exercise. 11 However, that effect seems to only apply to people that do not exercise regularly or only exercise at a moderate rate.

In fact, the research shows that nitric oxide supplements do not help elite athletes, so it’s not a supplement that you should be using if you’re in really good shape. 

Finally, and according to an article published in the journal Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, taking a nitric oxide supplement can offer several heart-boosting effects, including the reduction of arterial stiffness, reduction of blood pressure, and improving carotid artery blood flow.

It should be mentioned, though, that the researchers only conducted the research on animals, therefore, that might not translate equally to humans.
