If you’re looking for a place that offers you health-conscious cuisine that gives due emphasis on sustainable and organic ingredients (whenever possible), Urth Caffe is a good place to visit.
While it’s not 100% vegan, there are some interesting vegan options you can order for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Urth Caffe is specialized in serving delicious organic coffees and teas, but you can also find some delicious food options, including vegan desserts.
Here are Urth Caffe’s most prominent vegan options:
- Vegan Panini Portabella
- Vegan Patty Melt Panini
- Paradise Salad
- Pizza Primavera (exclude pesto)
- Vegan Chocolate Chunk Pecan Cookie
- Vegan Oatmeal Raisin Cookie
- Vegan Chocolate Cake
- Victory Vegan Pumpkin Pie
You can also find extras such as hummus and grilled veggies, as well as a wide variety of hot and cold drinks like special coffee and teas, as well as smoothies.
Below we’re going to look at the aforementioned vegan options in more detail and see exactly what they contain.
Urth Caffe’s Vegan Options
1 – Vegan Panini Portabella
The Vegan Panini Portabella is a grilled sandwich packed with grilled portabello mushrooms, roasted peppers, wild arugula, grilled artichokes with pesto, and almond cheese spread. This absolutely delicious sandwich is served with a side of spinach and tomato salad, as well as a small pot of nicely seasoned olives.
2 – Vegan Patty Melt Panini
The Vegan Patty Melt Panini is a grilled panini sandwich with a plant-based patty that is topped with melted onions, and vegan pepper jack cheese. Looks and tastes like meat, but it’s not meat.
This option is not available at all locations.
3 – Paradise Salad
The Paradise salad is an assortment of seasonal veggies, fruits, beans, and more. This particular option doesn’t appear on the menu as being vegan, but it contains ingredients such as seasonal veggies and fruits (that vary based on the season), cannellini beans, walnuts, and wild rice.
The salad is also tossed in pomegranate dressing and topped with vegan almond cheese. It can also be served with Urth pita bread upon request.
4 – Pizza Primavera (exclude pesto)
The Pizza Primavera is comprised of a baked vegan crust with vegan Monterrey cheese. It is topped with plant-based ingredients such as grilled artichoke hearts, basil flower, pesto marinated asparagus, potatoes, yellow squash, sugar plum tomatoes, Kalamata olives, Treviso lettuce, and peperonata sauce.
In Urth Caffe’s menu, this pizza does not appear to be vegan, which may be due to the fact it has pesto, which is usually made using parmesan cheese. You can either ask them to remove that ingredient altogether or replace it with vegan pesto.
The Vegan Panini Portabella contains pesto but is clearly marked as a vegan option on their menu, which could be used as a replacement for non-vegan pesto. (Feel free to inquire them and dig for further information)
5 – Vegan Chocolate Chunk Pecan Cookie Or Vegan Oatmeal Raisin Cookie
Unfortunately, where I live it’s still hard to get my hands on a vegan chocolate chip cookie. I enjoy visiting Starbucks for a good soy cappuccino, but I usually have nothing to eat. I know that’s changing in many parts of the world, including many coffee shops besides Starbucks.
Urth Caffé is one such coffee shop. They got their own homemade vegan chocolate and pecan-flavored cookies, as well as vegan oatmeal raisin cookies in case you’re passing by for a quick snack.
6 – Vegan Chocolate Cake
Perhaps the most popular vegan option they have — Urth Caffé’s Vegan Chocolate Cake is absolutely rich & delicious and is presented beautifully as seen in the image above.
If you’re like me and love coffee served with a slice of cake, then this is one you MUST have.
7 – Victory Vegan Pumpkin Pie
Although the image above was not taken from Urth Caffé’s website, the vegan pumpkin pie they sell is somewhat similar and presented beautifully.
If you’re not a fan of chocolate cake, feel free to order this one as an alternative.
In addition to the vegan options above, you can find close to a handful of vegan-friendly side dishes and extras, which include the following:
- Grilled Veggies
- Mixed Olives
- Homemade Salsa
- Sourdough Bread (only sold with the main course)
- Sliced tomato
- Black Beans
- House-Made Vegan Sausage (not available at all locations)
You can order these together with one of the suitable vegan main courses for a more fulfilling meal.
Urth Caffe is mostly known for its variety of beverages. I’m talking about exclusive, organic coffees made from exceptional shade-grown, and certified organic coffee beans, as well as a fine selection of hand-picked teas.
Here’s a long list of beverages you can order at Urth Caffe:

Keep in mind that most of the drinks are originally made with dairy milk. However, Urth offers four different vegetable beverages as a replacement: soy, oat, almond, and coconut milk. This, as in most places, comes with an additional cost. Soy and almond milk cost $0.75 and coconut and oat milk cost $1.
What you’ll want to keep in mind as well is that some of these drinks also come with whipped cream which isn’t vegan, so you may want to consider removing it.
In the list above I’ve also listed two different smoothies but you can actually create your own smoothie with fruits of the day like kiwis, bananas, strawberries, pineapple, watermelon, and mango.
Two Final Recommendations For My Fellow Vegans
Allow me to make two quick recommendations that have helped me in my vegan journey by ensuring I’m always healthy and deficiency-free.
- The first recommendation is my favorite vegan multivitamin supplement. It was created with vegans in mind. It contains vitamins B12, D, and Omega 3. In other words, it contains nutrients that vegans are generally low in.
- The second recommendation is this amazing vegan starter kit that is actually a bundle with 9 e-books that will help you lead a healthy, vegan lifestyle without running into any dietary deficiencies. It has great advice, and it includes print-outs and checklists that will make the theory easy to implement. This is something I’ve included in my recommended products page as well.
Thank you for reading this blog post. Hopefully, it has served you well.
